SEO or search engine optimization as it is more commonly known, consists of the manipulation of certain elements within your web site. The things that are being manipulated generally are the Meta Tags, the linking structure and written content of the web page.

Before you become overly concerned about the use of the word "manipulation", there are certain ways of arranging or "manipulating" these elements that are considered to be both ethical and acceptable by the search engines. While it is true that one could also employ other methods of manipulation that are less than acceptable by the search engines. Don't worry; our search engine optimization company does not employ any of those methods.

What are some of the differences between ethical and unethical SEO services? Perhaps the biggest difference between the two is how the search engines react to the different tactics.

Ethical SEO is the manipulation of the various elements but that manipulation falls within the guidelines set forth by the search engines themselves. For example; if the search engines deem that a certain percentage of keywords are acceptable within the Title of a web page then only using that percentage would fall within the ethical. This line of practice applies to the other elements that make up a web page.

Unethical SEO is also the manipulation of various elements that make up a web page but oft times this manipulation falls outside of the guidelines provided by the search engines. Again using the allowable percentage of keywords within the Title of a web page as an example, unethical SEO practices would go way beyond the acceptable percentages of keywords used within the Title.


This is only an example of the unethical application of SEO. There are far too many ways to manipulate the search engines and I am certainly not going to teach anybody how to do it. I wouldn't want to be responsible for anybody getting their website removed from any search engine.

So if we don't employ any unethical SEO tactics what methods does our service use? That's easy; we employ the standards that make up quality search engine optimization.

First of all we examine the nature of the site or your business. After we have come to fully understand your site's focus we then examine the architecture of your site, how the site is made and how it is linked together. Does the folder structuring and naming conventions make sense or will the existing architecture hinder our optimization efforts?

Once we have that all sorted out we then move on to the keyword research, which phrases will work best for which pages. The amount of time the keyword research takes is wholly dependant upon the size of the site. Upon completion of the keyword research we can now focus on applying these keywords to the individual pages.

Working the keywords into your web page is easier than you may think. First we apply these words into the Title of your page by using them in a fashion that people may actually work them into a search query. Next we use these keywords in a proper sentence for the page's description. This is very important as a well-written description is often used on the search engine page itself. Also we place your keywords into the Keywords section of the Meta tags. Some people believe that the keywords Meta tag is unimportant but I tend to disagree with them. While it maybe true that the search engines no longer give them as much weight as they once did, they still give them some weight and that weight could be the difference between page 1 and page 2 in a search engine.



Now that we have the HEAD content or Meta tags covered it is time to strategically work our keywords into the main textual content of your web page, this is called search engine optimization copyrighting. The important thing to remember when planning the SEO copyrighting is to place these keywords in natural way and not to just simply add them helter skelter. After all we still want people to have a good experience while viewing your site or pages.

Once we have completed these tasks it is time to develop a site map that incorporates our main keywords as the anchor text for each of the pages. The site map helps the search engines to discover all of the pages that make up your site. It is also important to remember that the site map needs to be faithfully maintained. If you create new pages for your site you need to add them to your site map. The same needs to be done when pages are removed from the site.
